My name is Keri Ruggeroli, and I am a lifelong equestrian. I love horses, people and teaching. Over the past 40 plus years of horse ownership, competing, training and teaching, my philosophy has been consistent. The horse's needs must be met in as natural as an environment as possible. We should learn to listen to our horses so we can keep them happy and healthy. In order to do this, owners must be willing to learn from equestrians with more knowledge. A good equestrian is a lifelong learner.
My background in horses includes Western and English riding. In the my early riding I competed in open shows in Hunters and Eventing. I trained with 3 different trainers who all had a great deal to do with the foundation of my riding. I am grateful to each of them. However, my heart lies with Western Disciplines. Currently, I am embarking on Ranch Riding and am training with successful trainers and clinicians. I am bringing this back to my students who are interested in starting this new genre of riding also. Most of my skill, training and teaching is in speed events. I have successfully competed in barrel racing and pole bending for the last 15 years. I have trained, competed on and sold many horses. I have had many successful students and horses along the way. In my early years, my focus was winning. As I get older, my focus is on educating riders, young and old, how to ride and compete well, safely, take care of their horses properly and to have excellent sportsmanship.
I have an incredible husband and daughter. My husband, Tony, has been on this horse crazy ride with me for the last 27 years. Without his support and constant work to keep the facility in top shape, I would not be where I am today. Our daughter, Bella, has the horse crazy gene as well. She has been surrounded by outstanding horses, horseman, and veterinarians her entire life. She is a Texas A&M graduate and is now in Veterinary School at Texas Tech in Amarillo. She aspires to become a expert in Equine Lameness and surgery. Bella competed quite successfully in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and breakaway roping.
